Anyone have a cheap trigger fix for a 6.5 lb. 10 22 trigger? I hate to spend more than the cost of the rifle for a trigger.

I ended up stoning mine to see how it would work since I planned to buy a new one anyway. Got it to about 2.5 lbs and never bought the new one.

I took the easy way out and put a Volquartsen sear and trigger in the one I had. When I did it in the early 2000's the parts were fairly cheap, not sure about now.

I got the Ruger upgrade for about $50 & it made a big difference. In fact, bought another for my other 10-22.

I cut back the depth of the hammer notch, polished the engagement surfaces, and took a coil off the return spring. It has been totally satisfactory for years.

I fixed it. A Volquartsen trigger kit. From 6.5 lb. to 2.5 lb.

I went with the Ruger target trigger group on my Steel Challenge 10/22. Swap trigger groups and instantly went from a 7 lbs trigger to a 2 3/4 pound.

I really!!! like mine. Recommend all 10-22 owners get it. A good & cheap fix.

What I want to know is WHY Ruger is putting that crp trigger in their rifles & not using their own fix!!!
