Bullet Mold First Time Use Procedures

Hi all,
I just got a new lee .457 double cavity mold.
I blackened up the insides, warmed it up on my lee lead melting furnace, went to use it and i couldn't get a ball to cast. My other mold works with no problems. I would pour in the lead and most of it would just run of the sides of the mold, though a small amount of lead would go into the cavity's.
What am I doing wrong? I just got a walker and it needs to get dirty!

I never blacken anything. I scrub my molds with a tooth brush and simple green and they're ready. You might have too much crud built up from whatever you used to blacken them. Now that the alloy has run out the sides, you most likely have some build up from that as well.
