Hi all.
I've been playing with slug loads in my Norinco 87 12ga and find myself wishing for better sights.
The receiver does not have much room to play with and the top of it is dished in, so mounting a rear sight base might be abit awkward.
I've been searching Brownells and found a shorty front ramp.

I'm not really sure on how to go for the rear sight.
Something like this would be great if I could find one to match up with the reciever or barrel contour.

Also I read somewhere that epoxying the bases down was a reasonable alternative to sliver soldering?

I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks
Glenn.

OH yea!!! I put a hammer spring in one for my buddy. That gun is interesting for sure! I heard of them made in 10 ga also.

I did some shopping at Brownells

Here is the shorty front ramp of the medium height with the FireSight's bead installed.

I have the rear peep sight installed. I used the one for an FN Mauser. The barrel profile was close. I did a little sanding to get the sides of the sight base to match the barrel, then clued it down with 2 part epoxy after roughing up and degreasing both surfaces.
I'll shoot it tomorrow and see if it stays put. Hopefully I guessed close enough on the ramp and bead heights to get it sighted in.
