Went to my local range/lgs to shoot my S&W revolvers and do load testing for some commercial cast Boolits on my 15-1 (haven't learned to cast yet). Low and behold, they had a nib Handi rifle in my favorite caliber, and at a price I couldn't resist, didn't help having my Christmas cash with me. Bought it on the spot, and had to run a box of jword bullets through it. It's even more fun than my 357 Handi rifle. It also completes my 44mag rifle collection minus a bolt gun that I don't see myself really ever buying. It runs like a champ, and looking forward to running some cast that I got in a trade from a member here. Fun little carbine!......the 15-1 ran great, and the 617-6 was great too all the way to 75yds today.

I had one several years back. It shot accurately with jacketed, and with .433 cast. The barrel slugged at .432+.

Burned some reloads through it. Shot great, now it's time to put a red dot on it and dial it in. After doing a bit of reading, got lucky with this one. It's the trapper model that isn't made anymore. It's as much fun to shoot as my 357mag Handi.

Thats awesome. I was looking for a 44 when I found the 500 I just bought. Dont think I will ever load full power 500 in it though.

BKS, the 500 S&W is on the short list after a 45/70. I actually prefer the HandiRifle platform over my Encore. My son isn't complaining, he gets my Encore with 4 barrels
