Prayers for our family and church...

I and our church family need your prayers. Our long time friend and pastor passed away in his sleep last night / this morning. A neighbor found him this morning. He and my other brother ran around together before I was born. He told us a few weeks ago that he had been preaching for 48 and almost 49 years. It has been 13 months exactly since his wife passed away.

God please be with his daughter, their only child.

Thanks for all the kind words. We'll be going to the funeral home this evening to see friends. He had so many friends his service won't be until Saturday.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate all the prayers and well wishes. This was almost as rough as when my Mother passed away. He was a very good man. After we were teenagers, I never knew of him doing anything wrong. But we aren't the ones who's watching counts.

He was with his bride for Christmas once again. Sounds like he lived a good life and was called home, one can't ask for more than that. I'll offer my prayers for his daughter and his church family, he will be missed.
(BTW I was born in Oak Ridge almost 56 years ago, pretty sure I still glow in the dark. ;-) )

Thanks again folks. I really appreciate it. I know his daughter does. And I also know the church appreciates it. We had a great service this morning and several young folks came to the altar. I know he and his wife are together again.
