I'm working my way towards a 9.3mm deer hunting cartridge.
An obvious option is to use a heavy .358 mold.
Any yall have experience with what effects a deep hollow point creates on obtaining consistent accuracy with paper patched boolits?

hope some of this info helps.Probably the hollow base could be omitted.

Yes, good info, thanks.
Something I have been wondering about is when you have soft enough alloy and enough acceleration to displace the metal and make the boolit expand into the grooves then how does the metal in the walls around the hollow point behave. So to ask, is there any significance to having the hollow center.
I am indeed looking forward to trying out the patched small bore 9.3.

According to Whitworth it was about balancing the bullet The plug was to avoid slump or distortion.

My .45 rifle is a .458 bore diameter muzzleloader.

Getting a 457193 to be hollow pointed to take the belt and suspenders approach to expansion.
Reckon the hollow will not be deeper than approaching the the first driving band.

For the 9.3, guess there will be some experimenting to find out how much is too much.
