Friend brought one to fix. I found a FH screw in it and of course the threads were shot.
I got it out but looked up the size and what the heck is .108X56 threads???
Had to fix threads anyway and found a 4-40 was a good fit. No long oval heads though so I made a tool to reform a FH to an oval head. Came out to exact measurements of the original head. New slot cut and shaped. Some bluing and good to go.

Yep, one of the most commonly buggered screws on the 94s and 92s. It's a 4-56 screw that is 1 7/32" long. Hard to find anyone who will admit cross threading and ruining one though :)

Numrich carries them for $3.90 if the D&Td hole in the barrel band can be salvaged. Sometimes it can be carefully peened, contoured and re-threaded.
