Well I use to have these molds but a year or so ago I got a case of the stupids and sold them..I knew better. knowing how expensive they are getting and how hard to find..Ive been watching them(saved search, etc) on the auction site for a couple years..See max ball molds all the time but even they generally go for $50+ now..Hardly ever see maxi hunter molds and used the .50 generally goes for $75 and every .54 maxi hunter mold has went for $100+...Well I got an alert of about new postings I thought well lets look..i saw these and thought, wow they will go high..Starting bid of ...$25 each on the maxi hunter molds and $20 on the .54 maxi ball mold....then I looked again, holy smokes! that's a buy it now price:shock:
So I ended up with a .50 maxi hunter mold, a .54 maxi hunter mold and a .54 maxi ball mold for the grand total of $70 shipped..I never get lucky with this stuff but the waiting finally paid off...
now, I almost hate to take them out of the packages:oops:

Wow, great find! The .54's are pretty scarce, particularly the maxi hunter. You are set up!

T/C branded moulds are often under appreciated, but of excellent quality. Hope you enjoy yours, Kylr!

I've done stupid things as well and found myself out in the rain. I learned my lesson, too, but for some things it's a bit late. Congratulations.

Yes they are, Ive always had good service from T/C molds, just as good as any Ive owned to be honest..Ill admit in not a casting expert but Ive done a lot of it. for my purposes they have always served me very well.

I will, Ive shot the maxi balls many times. All of my T/C's (less the encore with its 1/28 barrel of course) just shot them like lasers..even my old CVA bobcat shoots them like a champ..I plan on trying wonder wads and some different charges with the maxi hunters to see what they all like.
my tc scout loves the maxie. ball with 90 grains of 2f. that cambo shoots 1/11/2 in at 100 yards and hit like a truck its a 1in 20 twist

That is one of those special kind of finds. Congrats. I bet you'll never find a deal like that for a long time.

I had both of those .54 cal TC molds for my Renegade. When I sold the rifle I kept the molds and sold them to a young man that needed molds for his .54. It only took him 2 years to transform those molds into unuseable squares of metal that no amount of cleaning could bring back or straighten out. I thought that he understood how to treat a mold before I sold him these molds for the Princely fee of $10 per mold.Robert

I tried 80g with a 490 RB and it shoots ok at 50 but crappy anything further, so hopefully the maxi shoots better
