Went to cast about 200 429-421 boolits today. Had a good running batch of alloy and molds. Went thru about 200 lbs. Think I might have enough for 2015 and maybe 2016. Dang I hate it when a plan comes together

I think that's what's called "casting with a vengence"! WOW!!

I've never cast over 5,000 bullets in a day, that would take me most of a week. WOW...

The most I've ever done is about 1000 in a day--but i know the feeling. You get into a rhythm and perfect boolits keep popping out of the molds, and it's just SO hard to stop.

I had to make myself stop on Saturday to do other things but it sure is hard when the bullets just fall out of the mold.

When you have an 8 cavity mold you wait more an lead to melt than you do casting. But the boolits sure do pile up with that mold.

I've cast several hundred 429421's when I used to have 2/ea 4C moulds working in tandem, but I don't believe i ever came close to gulping up 200 pounds of alloy in one setting! What brand mould is your 8C 429421?

Did about 1100 one day. 38's .45 ACP and some for the '06. Mostly 38's and .45's. Have done that many since. Usually around 400.
I good for a while.

I have a 6 cavity H&G mold for 230 grain 45 acp. I didn't count. But I have cast everything you can get in a 1 gallon freezer bag and still zip it. I did 2 bags and had a plastic cup full left over. I don't think that was equal to your day. But it was the best day I've had.

One thing about that mold. It practically sucks the lead out of a pot.

Guys I lied to you. I weighed the 2 buckets of bullets and only came up with 168 lbs. I am a binge caster. Woke up at 2 am put on coffee and started heating things up. Spent the whole day casting with 2 - 20 lb bottom pours and 2-20lb make up pots. Molds are 2- 4 cavity old Lyman molds and a sprue fan. Alloy was stacked and cleaned. Started setting up the Star sizer tonight. Have to wait until I can't sleep again to finish. Russ

1200 was about my personal best ..... 2 cavity 45s and 38s these days I'm lucky to have time w/o incident to knock out more than 150-200 of any particular 2 moulds even with all the quads and 6x .

Wife gave up on me 30 years ago. Have roller shelves under the SAECO furnaces to take the weight off. Now I have to size and lube. One thing I like about winter is it gets dark about 4:30 in the afternoon. Leaves plenty of time in the loading room. In answer to what I load on= Dillon. Had Stars, CH Autochamps,Green machines and a Hornady projector. Blue is where it is at. Still single stage for rifle, same presses I bought in the 60's. Russ

Just cast some 9mm's with a Lee six banger. Did about 1000 in two or three hours this evening. I really like casting and can get a lot done when I have time. Wife likes to check on me and see how many are done. Can't wait till she says ok when I ask her if she wants to cast a few. If things go ok tomorrow I should be able to do more. Yahoo!

I have a RCBS Pro Melt. It has a 20 LBS pot. On average I finish 2, on a good day I can go through 3 pots. Some where between 40 to 60 LBS. Wow that is a good day to do almost 160 LBS of lead in one day. If I did that much in one day I would not have anything to do tomorrow. Except to shoot and recycle the lead back to mother earth.

Russ--I agree, Dillon is where it's at. I now load all my .44 mag ammo on a Dillon Square Deal B, and all my other ammo on an old Dillon 450 that I've had since the mid 80's. My old Herter's M3 Model Perfect sits at the edge of my loading bench and just whines!--Shuz
