A buddy of mine called me over to ID some ammo he scored at an auction. I expected modern stuff. I usually buy all of his brass and reloading stuff when he finds it. Well this stuff is outside my scope, so maybe you folks can help me get an idea what a fair price would be for me to acquire some or all of it.

Most of the boxes are full and ammo is original not reloads. Obviously a few are non military but they are vintage.

Nice! You gonna try to shoot any of it?

Hey now, some of those have been down the trail a piece!

Cool stuff and thanks for the pics.

Most of it would not scare me off, had I a weapon to chamber it, but some would appeal to cartridge collectors I think.

I wouldn't shoot any of it, but I'm an old ammo collector and would love to have it! It would all look great on my shelf.

30-40 krag is the only one I have a gun to fire. The rest will get tucked away or traded off for stuff I can use.

I found a box of the 25 Remington on Ward's that sold for $116. Pretty salty.

Those are totally unsafe! You should mail all of them to me for disposal, especially the krag.

That is super cool! That is a treasure! I love anything vintage arms & ammo and especially militaria. I have a laughable amount of stuff but it makes for cool man cave art.

I would love to shoot the old guns that all these rounds were made for! The Krag is the only one I've had the pleasure to shoot. The 11mm Mauser would be neat.

All the 11 mm Mausers I have seen have been paper patched black powder loads. Are those patched?

They do not appear to be. Looks like they are just lubed.

Wow. Nice score. It totally amazes me what is still lurking around in basements. My friends grandfather who I was very close to passed a few years ago and last spring his wife called and said grandpa's loading bench is standing in a foot of water after the sump pump took a poop. The stuff we pulled out from a reloaded of 60yrs....aprox 15 large boxes of cardboard wads, most junk from the water, 10 gal of wet tumbler media, and an unopened bando of 30-40 that was under water. We dried it out but the cardboard inside is all deformed.

If you can hang on to that 11mm Mauser. One of the local gun stores here sells it or $7.00 a round ( that's each shell ). So you do have some rare finds their, Steve77.

I found a little shop a couple years back that had virgin 30-40 Krag brass for 20 bucks per hundred. He had 300 pcs but I only had enough cash on me to buy 200. I wish it wasn't so far out of the way, I would have went back for the other 100.

I'd love to have a couple boxes of that Winchester 7mm full patch… but no idea what the going rate would be.

That stuff is a real find. Forget about shooting any of it...i would not even open the boxes as that would lower the value. Do some searching and see what the ammo collectors say. LLS

Most of it will be corrosive primed so if you would shoot any of it, scrub the barrel with boiling water, afterwards.

Not only corrosive, but mercuric primed as well.

I'm with some of the others . . . I wouldn't be shooting it. I have to believe that some of those would bring a decent price in the collecting circles.

Nice assortment and a nice find! Thanks for sharing!

I have shot hundreds of rounds of the UMC 7mm ammo, good stuff. If you want to sell it at
a reasonable cost, I am interested. Not a collector, I want to shoot it, so price should be
with that in mind.

The boxes labeled "15 Patronen" are German WWII ear cartridges. Check this site ob how to read the labels: http://www.lonesentry.com/manuals/german-infantry-weapons/german-ammunition-labels.html

I wouldn't shoot it because of the collector value, there's no such thing as corrosive ammo,I wish people would stop repeating that rubbish. Pat

The boxes with 15 rounds in them with a blue stripe appear to be some sort of German 8mm WWII ammo. I would be very interested in finding out what those are / possibly working a deal. I am a budding young ammunition collector mostly of WW era stuff from both sides.
