I recently discovered that my remington 512 has three rings in the barrel. You can see the gaps in the rifling when you look down the barrel. Also when you run a cleaning brush down it it will hit a ring and feel like it exited the barrel but then contact the rifling again. It shoots pretty good but I think it could do a lot better. I haven't sat down and shot several groups with it so I couldn't tell you exactly. I think it would be really cool to have like a shillen barrel installed on it if thats possible. Could it just be relined? Thanks guys.

I would go with the Ebay option to keep it in original configuration. There is a barrel listed as buy it now for $42.77 + 12.77 shipping that is listed as having a great bore. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/231778122149?dest=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fitm% 2F231778122149

It is easy to change barrels yourself. Those old Remington's normally shoot very well. I like older Remington 22's and adopt neglected orphans that I come across in pawn shops. My latest adoption is a 511 with a barrel code of 1947.

Agree with the above......just buy a new barrel. They are cheap and easy to install.
