I just found this last night and am curious if anyone here has one or has used one. Looks really convenient.

For $275 I would hope it would be convenient.

Well, it sure looks like itl do the job. Fairly simple looking also. A bit pricey for myself but for folks that shoot lots of rifle rounds it would be worth it i guess.

built one of these for less than $100.00

That's not a bad price compared to other annealing machines. It's at the right price point for me. I've seen the plans for this type of machine. Just don't have the time to build one.

I dip my brass in the lead pot for 5 secs and the necks are annealed for nothing
Cant beat that price

I've been using the socket and torch method. The advantage to an annealing machine is consistency. Every cartridge is going to be annealed the same. W/ the machine doing the work it frees you up to do other things.

Each person has their reason for or against it. I just have no inclination to build one myself. In my research, I have found machines ranging in price from $100 up to $3000.00 depending on how much of the machine you want to build yourself. For an already built ready to go machine, $275 is pretty inexpensive. If I were in the mood for another profect, I might attempt the one Smoke posted a link to.

I like the style Smoke posted too! I don't normally dis a clever build but this pic in the link made my hair stand on end!

Could have bought spacers at the same place he bought all those washers at.

Mounting the motor is a bit of trial and error. Using washers enables you to get it just right. In theory, once you know what the length is you can cut a spacer and replace the stack.

Looks to me like a brilliant design. How could anybody complain about the price? What a deal! Better get one before the price goes up.

Ordered one w/ both kits. I have a bunch of 300 BLK cases to anneal. I will post a review once I get to use it.

Yes please advise. By the time you source the materials then build the machine, there would not be enough savings to justify the effort.

i just used hex nuts on each end. Did away with all those washers

I try to make the builds look finished and well thought out. The washers are ok for sizing/measuring but the finial build should use the correct spacers. No more than 3 washer ish? That's my rule.

Well, I ordered one. He wrote an email that said he tries to get the machines sent the next day after receiving the order, but he has recently been getting swamped with orders and is behind by a week. Sounds like he is a one man shop. At least he has the courtesy to communicate. I don't mind waiting as long as the shop keeps me informed to what's happening.

Got the same email. I wasn't expecting delivery before Christmas due to shipping demand alone. The fact that I got the email fifteen minutes after I paid says a lot about his character. I can't wait to try this machine out. Between it and the Ultimate Cannelure Tool I will be busy in the garage for a few days :)

Nice build - good to see some original thinking.

I use this one.
it has a timer and uses 2 torches.
with cases like the 223 you have to hustle and have your stuff together to keep up with it.
it's super consistent and repeatable.

I don't have time to be mucking about, my time is limited and I can either spend it playing with brass and junk or I can get things done.

Big difference in price. I would have ordered the BenchSource a long time ago if it was less money. The Annealeez should be able to keep up w/ my volume of shooting.

I've paid more for less...The Annealeez looks like pretty good. I shoot a fair amount of 220 Swift on one end and 450/400 Nitro Express on the other. Some brass is either hard to come by and/or expensive when you do. Trying to make it live is more about having it than running around trying to find it. I'm not sure I would go to the trouble of annealing 223. I don't think I've ever bought 223. It's usually free.

Smoke this site is costing me to much money... but on the plus side your machine saved me $200 dollars over buying premade...so does that mean Castboolits saves me money?[smilie=w:

I contacted Mr. Anealeez whether the machine would handle PPC or Br cases. He said customers had done Hornet and 22 TCM cases. I assume he hasn't tested the limits of the shorter end of the case lineup. Anybody tried the short stuff?

I got plans and cartridge plate from J Morris a couple of years ago to build mine. The Anealeez looks fine but I'll keep mine. CR

Did a dry run w/ mine today, no flame. Initial impression is that it's well built. The torch tip adjustment is as tedious as if looks in the videos. I need to look into making some changes to make it easier to move around. It's not a big deal if you run large batches of the same cartridge. But I have a bunch of different cases that I anneal. Need to sacrifice some cases to get the timing right and I should be good to go.

VHoward

No need to sacrifice any brass. Without the torch on, run a couple of cases through the machine. Adjust the speed so the case is in front of the torch for 5 seconds. Torch does not have to be on for you to time this. Then light the torch and adjust so the bright blue tip is where the case neck would be. Then run a case through the process and evaluate if it got annealed enough. With .223, I found 5 - 6 seconds was ideal.

Now THAT is interesting. Do you have any issue with lead sticking to the brass? Do you water quench or air cool?

I have had the Annealeeze machine for 8 months now. Shortly after I got it and had run a few hundred cases though it, the cases stopped spinning reliably. The rubber on the wheel loses it's "stickiness". Contacted Annealeeze and he said wash the wheel with warm soapy water and the "stickiness" will come back but loses it after 100 or so cases and you have to wash it again. My solution was to epoxy a strip of sand paper onto the wheel and now the cases spin every time the whole time.
My only issue with this machine other than the wheel losing it's stickiness is that you have to get new wheels for shorter cases than the 223 or long magnum rifle cases. It's still working.

Last month, I bought one of Magic Mikes machines and it comes with everything to do all sizes of cases in rifle. The only thing it doesn't come with is the torch. After a few hundred cases done with it, it still works without having to wash any wheel or modify it. I will keep this one and sell the Annealeeze machine.

That is why I wanted a machine that would do any case from .17 hornet to 50 BMG without needing any conversions and just has a steel carrier to move the cases into and out of the flames.
