They had some awesome gunsmiths years ago ! I believe this was done in 1941. Barrel looks like it was (Re)lined to 22 Hornet. ML Stith scope mount holding a Weaver 440. Action is a 44 1/2 Stevens.

Very nice indeed! This was a fabulous design, and I'm thankful that Gail and Paul continue to make them. My CPA Sporter is in 45/70 and 348 Winchester. I especially like the 348 Winchester barrel, as it is a lightweight hunting rig. Thanks for posting.

The front of the Stith mounted scope,in the dovetail of the rear sight?
Opps my bad guess on the rear sight dovetail.

That is the front scope mount.
