It's a Hollywood Automatic Shotshell Press with the plastic wad conversion.

That's exactly like the machine I used to load practice shotgun shells for our dept. when I was rangemaster from 1977 to 1979. The rectangular aluminum wad column is missing, as well as the shot and powder tubes. I also don't see the handle, but it looks like it's in good condition from what I can see from the picture.

It didn't come from Kern County did it?

The link is to the very exact machine I used at the Kern County Sheriff's Office pistol range, in Bakersfield, CA. I'm the one who took that machine to Jim Whitney and had it converted to feed plastic wads in 1978.

The machine itself had belonged to the Sheriff's Office for quite a few years before I became rangemaster in 1977, so it was probably purchased sometime in the late 1960's would be my guess. Jim Sylvester was the rangemaster when I was hired in 1971, and the machine was in the range house at that time, along with the AmmoLoad and Loadamatic metallic reloading machines that I used when I was promoted to the position. I became a Reserve Deputy in 1969, before being hired full time, and the machine was there then, and old Jim used inmate laborers to load the shotgun shells..... That ceased when I took over!

I've often wondered what happened to that machine, and the other two. Now at least I know what happened to the Hollywood.....

All of a sudden I have friends come to me with pics and I say I will find out what I can.
As in the case of the other thread on the senior turret ...
This one came to me today from a friend that showed me the pics and he stated it belongs to a friend of the family ...
Later on this afternoon I mentioned to him to make an inquiry if the person will let go of it or not ..
Be after the holidays before I know anything .
All of a sudden , out of the blue , two different Hollywoods flashing by ... go figure !!
