1792 Contract flintlock rifle

any one ever built one?
I'm looking to maybe buy the kit for this coming years compition in the musket catagory

or the Harpers ferry, but i like the long stock on the contract

No, I haven't built one. Have shot similar guns. Obviously very early design and fairly straight- I guess owing to its military roots. At 15/16", I'd be inclined to the 54 cal to reduce the muzzle weight a little for offhand shooting. Also, if you have big hands/large fingers, some of those trigger guards can be a bit tight. I don't know about the specific one Track uses for that kit though. Overall, the rifle's design looks good to me.

The only kit I have built was an old school jukar that I bought from the pawn shop. I have given thoughts to completing a more worthy project from Pecatonic River.

You might try at muzzeloadingforum.com They do allot of builds there.

http://www.jimkibler.net/ Nice kits here. They are a higher end kit but come very close to complete with less work to do.
