I always lubed with 50-50 alox and mineral spirits then sized then lubed again with straight alox . ive been trying to get away from straight alox lately though been experimenting with powder coating and 45-45-10 .

Yes. I cast the same bullet that you use. I tumble with a very light coat of BLL, then size and then tumble with a medium coat of BLL.

If you don't size your boolits then there may not be a need to apply the second coat.

If you must size, there still may not be a need for a second coat of lube.

Or, you may find it necessary whether you size or not. Try it both ways and see for yourself.

With the Lee tumble lube handgun boolits, I simply cast, tumble lube and load
'em up.

I would try lubing any Lee TL boolit as-cast first. AFIK, that's how Lee intended them to be used.

Lee's search to make the best AND affordable (thankfully without the grandiose bragging of the old Herter's) is often accompanied by designing out time-consuming operations.

But in the end YOUR barrel(s) and the target together will tell you what works for each gun.
