#4 deer this year (2 bucks 2 does) .. all with cast powdercoated bullets... Thanks to this website .. Otherwise I would still be shooting jacketed and uninformed ...

Got this 11 Point yesterday evening at approx. 5:15 PM
Weighted 176 LBS at the processor
Shot with a 14" TC Contender in 30 Herrett

MilHec -312-159 HP Powdercoated sized 309
2400 Powder 13.6 grns running at 1560 FPS
run about 40 yds into thick woods before crashing .
I found him within 15 minutes ..
its now getting dark and by the time I got him loaded and started across the field already had coyotes starting to howl .. Kind of creepy !!

yes I am blessed this year .. Started out rough .. I got a terrible cold 3 days before opening day of muzzleloader season .. mad coughing
Went opening day anyway .. In stand at least 45 minutes hacking away .. low and behold as its getting light I see two does standing back to me at edge of field .. I lay one down .. Back home 30 minutes after light .. I thinking this is unbelievable
Cold continues to get worse..
Go one more time about 10 days into muzzleloader.. Miss a nice buck .. Only thing I can think is I let gun drop on trigger pull .. very weak
Now almost over cold and I get the flu .. Miss 4 days of gun season
finally get to go on 5th day.. extremely weak .. going to go regardless .. 5PM out walks a 185 LB 8 point . one shot from the 358 Win and DRT
All I can do to load him up and get out of field .. took 2 days to recover
go again 5 days later and get a nice doe with the 300 Blkout and YHM suppressor
Then yesterday I get to tag the 11 Point with the 30 Herrett contender ..

if you look at the pic I am still red faced and still gasping for air .. recovery has been slow but I plod on ...

Blessed this season .. yes I am and very thankful for it .. my Family has meat for the year !

Smoke,

When I hear coyotes yapping I just assume they are laughing at me because they have me pegged and there is no way that I am going to get a shot.

Greetings Smoke and well done ! That will be some good eating all winter.
30 Herrett will always be one of those special cartridges for popping "corn Crunchers" and steel targets.
I look forward to making some "rainbow boolits" when I get back north.

hopefully going to get a doe with a 14" 7TCU contender .. have a NOE 132 Gr FN running 1896 FPS 50/'50 PC'ed Jet Black
Plan on turning into hamburger and donating to the church needy food program ..

if this happens I would have gotten 5 deer with 5 different guns..

All with cast bullets and fed both my family and some needy in the community as well ..

This would round out my season nicely..just a fine season

Being nosy, what's your load for that? I never chronoed it, but I always ran a healthy dose of 2015BR under the Lee 130. (24.5 gr. I think?)

Nicely done, all that fresh air must have been helpful. Please get some rest so you don't come down with pneumonia.

23.4 grns of WC846 Similar to BLC2 its an absolute tack driver in my contender
