I was wondering what the length of the 125 and 158 rf's are both base to meplat and crimp groove to meplat. I'm thinking of getting one of the 158's and milling it down to make a 145 gr for use in 9mm's.

TIA

I think the 158 rf has a bigger meplat than the 125.

I think the 158 rf has a bigger meplat than the 125.Yes it is a LOT bigger. I can't see it feeding in a 9mm.

Also the nose on the 158 is a lot longer, so looks like I'm going to need to design a 9mm specific mold. Oh well, so much for doing it on the cheap ;)

If you are looking for a heavy boolit for the 9mm, there is an answer.
NOE has a boolit mold designed for the 9mm that weighs in at 155 grains and I know freom personal experience that it works great. They call it the 358-155-TC elco.

What I'd really like is an ogival wadcutter weighing 145 gr and as it will be powder coated, no lube groove. Essentially the 37-125 rf stretched ~0.04" with no lube groove sounds like it would do the trick.
