I have 2 .357 revolvers I want to try deer hunting with 180gr boolit. Frankly I will never shoot them enough to want to cast my own. BUT...I loathe "hard cast" boolits as I feel they are all too hard! I'd like something in the 10-16 bnh range & will probably powder coat them any way.

Can anyone recommend a supplier of a good hunting (Keith style is fine with me) boolit that is not too hard?

Do you want to borrow one of my molds?

You are right about most of the factory made being too hard but I can tell you, don't start casting your own. It is addictive and you won't be able to turn back. (Hint, Hint - that Lyman 175 gr SWC- PB mold with the huge drive band might very well be just the ticket for you).

You might look at Missouri bullet co. They do cast multiple bullet hardnesses.

What are the guns? Some .357's run into trouble with too long of a nose length.

Rugers and one German made SAA copy. It looks to have quite a long cylinder actually
