I'm looking for experiences with this particular boolit and would love to hear how it performs in the field. I'm thinking about loading it to around 1400-1500fps and using it for a "heavier alternative". After searching many pages of posts, I've gathered that people use this boolit for paper a lot, but I haven't read of any animals taken with it. So, is there anybody who hunts with this boolit?

I think anything with or without legs, with a boolit weighing that much. Haha...

I have used the Lee 500 in 45-70, cast of pure lead, with a gas check at iirc about 1200fps. It shoots well from my Handi-rifle, but I think it might be slightly uncomfortable at 1500 fps unless you have a very heavy rifle. I have taken deer with it and it allows light in from both sides of the deer.
