93 Marlin Saddle Ring Carbine in 30-30 made in 1913. SN 1012. Kid that sold it to this guy took the ring off. Kept catching on his case. Just drill the hole out and put another one in, like new. Gun is mint, with a mint bore. Lockup is tighter than a frog's butthole. Great price.

Wish I had the money. Not a 30-30 fan, but that gun was a beauty. I'd love to horse trade with that guy to get it. Hell, I'd give up my AR15 for that gun.

How was the show up there this year? I attended once, back when it was still held at the Ottawa Sportmans Club and was disappointed. Haven't been back.

I did attend one in Antigo, WI a couple of weekends ago. Plan to attend the one in Ashland, WI later this month. That should hold me for another year.

It was OK. Not worth the trip really. Didn't see anything that was a good deal, but made a few contacts. Bullet caster in the Keweenaw, few guys wanting some of my .223 ammo. One guy bought a few boxes of my 10mm ammo and ran it in his new G20, then came back, bought a few more boxes and paid for 1,000rds for me to load up for him.

I had reloading stuff. The guy next to me did too. I was there from 9-2 on Saturday due to work obligations and sold more stuff than he did. Sold the rest of my stuff on the Glockpost forum today. Negotiating for a Glock 20 10mm off a guy there.

There's supposed to be a show in Crystal Falls this coming weekend. I wished I would have known about it earlier, I'd have gotten a table there. I also heard the Eagle River, WI gun show is supposed to be in May. I'll have to check the NRA site for the exact date. Might work that one. When is the Ashland show?

Excellent. Might skip the Ashland one, but I'm going to try and get a table at Eagle River. Do you have contact info for them?

Hey Freak,

You need that Mod 93 - hope you kept his # ! They love cast bullets - particularly with #31141 and IMR-3031 or IMR-4198. Hard to go back to a 94 Win. after you've operated a slick 93 Marlin.

I inherited a SRC in the 2900 SN range from my grandad who bought it new in Wis. about that same time - they must've been popular up there. Mine is outwardly rough, but fine inside, so I shoot it fairly frequently. It seems to prefer 170gr. over 150gr. bullets.

I AM a .30-30 fan. Don't be swayed too much by paper ballistics - it's a real game-getter. Just try not to stray much beyond ~100yds. because of the trajectory of FNs in the short carbine.

I respect the 30-30 and never doubted its capabilities. I'm just more of a 45/70 fan.
