My son Justin got a nice white-tail buck yesterday afternoon. Lagene and I had taken off to a gun show in Lewiston. He said he spotted the buck from our house, out about 1/2 mile and pursued it. He got within range and fired, but missed, the deer exited stage left and took off. Justin spent all afternoon, covering 2 1/2 miles, hunted that buck down and killed him with a front on neck shot at 150 yds. The mighty 303 speaks again!! JW

It's a real thrill to track/run one down, really puts that predatory instinct in high gear.

That rifle is beautiful! Nothing like wood and blued steel. You said you got 2600 fps with it? Any leading signs at all? I think I need a hardness tester and find out where I really am. Do you know the hardness of the bullet your using?

I'm betting those Speer 150gr HCSP jacketed bullets are pretty hard.

To the OP: Simply fantastic hunt. I'll bet you're proud as can be! Pretty sharp young fella you got there.
