I have to give a shout out to all the people here that worked on the 30XCB project and willingly shared their info .

that knowledge and conversations with JES we concluded that using the 1-14 twist and 3 groove rifling should get me capable of reaching at least near jacketed velocities.. with a little load development we are right in middle of published jacketed data and very accurate ..
Again my hats off to 30XCB crowd ..

Wow! we just talked in your shop and you were hoping to try it out on a deer. After looking at your groups and ending our conversation__You went right out and shot a really nice Union County ____BUCK! Congrats.

Next (hopefully) is a Ruger American in 300 blackout. I have a noe 311-247 hp pc'ed Jet Black running over 1425 fps .
Looking forward to seeing its terminal performance
If I connect there its on to a marlin 45/70 NOE 458-300 hp running 1597 fps pc'ed traffic orange
That would finish off my deer season this year

Yes our conversation stirred me up. After you left I told the wife I'm going to the stand
Little over a hour later I am trying with all my might to pull that 185 lb deer onto the 4 Wheeler. Got r did. I was tickled and dead tired

Excellent Buck, and you made a wise choice in rifle/cartridge combo - I'm going to have to look for a 35 cal barrel for my swap barrel for next years project now.

Congrats again!

Nice buck! Thanks for sharing.

Question: I don't know what "HSB" means, but what is the hardness of that bullet that you wacked that deer with?

Not really.
There must be the unwashed masses class. So we can go on confidently thru life knowing better :bigsmyl2:

I have a nice 358 on a Sako L579 that Jesse did for me and it shoots great.......BUT.....I had a chance to get back to the farm in NY last week (I live in AZ) for deer opener and I had to use one of my old standby's...my 35 Rem Marlin. Nice little buck about 100 yards from the house....... That Marlin sports an old 2-7 Redfield and for years was my Adirondack and swamp gun. I used 38gr. of H322 on a Speer 180.....it has been very effective over the years. My Dad, a WWII and Korean Veteran still lives alone on the farm.....he got the tractor out so it was an easy "drag". I know that I am blessed to be my age and have a Dad still capable of, and enjoying the hunt. 154506
