Great brass for FMJ .451 loads, but I could not load brass with .452 lead. Brass is thick compared to rem,win,etc...The few I did load with .452 would not do the plunk test, real tight fit. that's my story

A-MERC is the devils turds solidified into brass. This is the ONLY brass I find that goes straight to the recycle bin. Every variable involved in creating cases is found to be off on them. They don't fit moon clips, the length is off, the thickness is off, the primer pockets are off, it goes on and on. Just junk the stuff and save the headache. I say this and I even keep S&B brass, but I smash A-Merc brass with a hammer when I find it.

I have some in .32 H&R Mag. Not real good. Shoot and chuck.

I had a friend who was so determined to use A-Merc .45 acp brass that he actually used Loc-Tite to keep the primers in place.

It goes straight to the recycle bin when I find it, and I'll load most any brass...... But not A-Merc!

Hope this helps.

Fred

I saw the topic and took a deep breath hoping I could produce enough expletives to describe my feelings on A-Merc brass. I read the first comment, (yours), and decided you summed it up pretty well. I would have thrown in a few more %^&*((%^$#$^&*(()@@#$'s in 4 letter increments, but you did a pretty good job. ;)

Being a brass scrounger by nature, I looked upon all the A-Merc denunciations askance and felt if I could make S&B work I could make A-Merc work. Sorry I tried. Don't know about other calibers because I haven't run into any others, but in .45 ACP it really just is not reloadable or re-useable in my world. Big Boomer

Darn you guys are good! 100% junk. I don't know if the first shot can be trusted.

Why not shoot the brass, as in use it as targets? Good way to fine tune your loads and skills!

Because at least 10 out of a box of 50 would not even chamber in a Ruger .45 LC Blackhawk. It must have been those super tight chambers Ruger BH's are famous for having.. :)

Edit: Read your post a little slower, and see you never intended the brass to fit and fire in a gun. Good thing. ;)

I've ran across 9mm, .45 and .223 AMERC already, all get the pliers and into the scrap bucket. I got about a dozen AMERC .223 cases in some brass I bought, at least 8 were split about 1" up towards the shoulder. They looked to be once fired too. Pure garbage.

Who buys that stuff? I've never even seen any Amerc ammo for sale anywhere.

Have had 2 ruptured cases right at the web. Closer inspection of the web revealed balloon head spots in some of the cases. Load was 5.8 Unique, Wolf or CCI LPP and a 230LRN @ 1.260. Inspect web before use.

I was a fool...back when I got my Ruger SSM .32 H&R Magnum I knew nothing of Amerc. A guy was kind enough to sell me a bunch. I bet he's still laughing!
