The .429 Mini Mag connects at 170 yds with a Lee 310 cast. Zipped right on through.

Nice shootin'! 170 yds is fantastic with a handgun even with a scope!

It used to be a Ruger SBHH Bisley, but I did a little work to it. The barrel is a Mcgowen. Scope is a Bushnell Ellite 2-6X32.

That would be a great shot with a rifle.

I never hunted.....aside from shooting groundhogs. I have some accurate rifles that print some really good groups all the way out to 600 but if I had to take a shot at an unknown distance, I would be lost. Doing that with a handgun is impressive...to me anyway.

Thanks guys for all of the positive replies. I was pretty confident out to 150 from shooting sticks and I figured another 20 yds was doable fairly easy. It was a pretty steep downhill angle and the shot went a little high. After this hunt if I keep my practice up I won't shy away from another shot like that. I think it's just spending the time with the gun and figuring out what you and the gun have in ya.

Oops, I think I know why oops. Because you will get a lot more views here with oops than you would with Excellent.

Nope, Oops because a 44 is pretty marginal for elk at any distance according to a lot of people. I think it's done just fine for me.
