I'd like to buy an original Rock Crusher, because of its legendary strength. An RCBS 2 would be nice too.
Problem is I can't tell them apart. Can anyone easily explain the difference in marking?

Thanks in advance.

I have a Rockchucker II, and I have wondered this very same thing. Seems to be little information available. I do see that the new Supreme press is ambidextrous.

Prior to about the mid 1980s, RCBS presses had a green rough crinkle finish appled. After then it seems to be an electrostatic green finish that is mottled but not rough.

So, they should be the lighter green color. And I'm thinking an original will have "Patent ######" on the side.
I believe an RCBS II says "RS2" on the side! but I can't remember where I saw that or if it's true.

I believe the RS2 is a reloader special not a rockchucker.

My '71 Rockchucker has -RC- on the left side of the frame and RCBS on the right. The patent number is on the left toggle.

First off Rock Crusher and Rockchucker are two very different presses. Rock Crushers were big, and costly and very few were made.

From 1967 till around 1980 the Rockchucker was painted a pale, pea green winkle finish. It will have RC on the side and a date of manufacture stamped near the die hole. Sometimes covered by the bushing flange. After 1980 came the RCII with some redesigning and an attractive darker green powder coat finish. The handle is bigger and longer and can be mounted for left and right hand use.

Prior to to 1967 the Big A series presses were sold. It seems that every series had a different paint color.

Sorry, no time for pictures tonight.

The presses are marked. The model is part of the casting. Not at all difficult to identify the models. The Ammomaster is an exception and is the Summit.
