Hello Folks,

I'm seeing new Ruger Redhawks marketed as "New Model Redhawk" revolvers. The only information I can find is that Ruger never made a 4" Redhawk before now. Is this the only change to the New Model Redhawk?

Thanks, Tom

They have had a 4" Super Redhawk out for several years in 45 colt and 44 mag. I don't know what changes they made for a New Model Redhawk, is it blued?

They need to make it in .357 again.

Thats like an N frame in .357. Way too much hardware for that. I know. I have one of each caliber made. ;)

Only thing new I see is the 45Auto/45Colt chambering. Helluva jump to the throat for that little Auto though.

I've had the 4" in 44Mag for 7 years now.

I have a 4" .45 Colt, and have had it 6-7 years. The only new one I know if is the .45 Colt/.45 ACP, but I try not to look too much when I can't get the money together to buy new toys.

I'm guessing the round butt frame may have something to do with it.

I have not seen any accuracy issues with the extra throat on my convertible blackhawk in colt/acp. I run 45 super in mine, and can finally use up those flex tip bullets I had bought since they fit.

Ruger did not say convertible. And swapping cylinders on a Redhawk would have to be easier. And it's the same price so Auto-rim or clips.

Totally missed the round butt though.

Ah ha! The new models have a round frame and the old are square frame?

My last .357 Redhawk ended up as a .357/.44 Bain & Davis. I love my S&W mdl. 28, I carry it with me every where I hike and pack in the desert. I want to do another .357/.44 and the Ruger Redhawk is the perfect platform.
