hi guys , does someone have a copy of Ideal / Lyman handbook 33, can be a handbook that is newer within a few printings can be be older.
I require some vintage reloading information , please post, rojo

If you are serious about tracking down vintage Ideal loading information, Cornell Publications can be your best friend. They have reprinted many of the earlier manuals, starting from the first. Their URL is <www.cornellpubs.com> and they have just about anything Ideal you can imagine. I have the #33 packed away between one or another of my storage sites, but can't get to it right now. :(

Hi , I am seeking origial loading data from the Ideal / Lyman handbook 33 [ or slighter newer version ] for loading on the 358446 & 358429 can you assit me ?? many thanks, rojo

My Lyman Ideal #39 has the 358429 shown in the mould section but none of the mould numbers are used in the load data section. Also it would help if you named the cartridge you needed load data for.

My #39 Ideal Handbook lists a 358429 as a Keith solid base solid point bullet but there is no loading data for it. The 358446, is listed as a 357446...Standard bullet for .357 Magnum. Load data is :
Bullseye 4.5grs. No.6 6.0grs. Unique 6.5grs. 1300 M.V. fps. The # 6 is of course a discontinued powder. Ideal states some of these loads are max. but doesn't point out which.
The # 40 Handbook has Lyman Ideal on cover (1955) This lists the 357446 under .357 S&W Mag. Moderate Loads Only section...No.6 3.8grs. 5066 5.3grs. Unique 6.0grs. There is a Note: Also for target loads use 5.0gr. Red Dot at 1045 fps. Under .357 S&W Mag. -High Power Loads: 357446...Unique 8.5grs. @1400 fps. 2400 Rifle 15.5grs. @ 1550 fps.
Under .38 Special Standard Loads they list 358429...Max. loads: Bullseye 3.5grs. @890fps. No.6 4.0grs. @890 fps. Unique 4.3grs. @990 fps.
