I just noticed one of these on an auction site.
It is a real hunk of iron
I would like something like this for a 3 step case forming press.

I have one and can tell you that it is a side of beef! I believe that it can do the job.

The one you are looking at has been there for a while. They have reduced the price to be a fair price.

If you are not going to bid would you be so kind as to post a link?

Hi,
That was of course made for reloading revolver rounds (usually 38 spl.) using a three die set of dies!

Of course later, police depts. and civilians went to ACP cartridges and a press that could handle four dies were more desirable!

If you notice the design the links go from the toggle block to the out board end of the top of the frame.
Because of this the huge frame really has little stress on it. All the load runs from the toggle block up through the ram and from the toggle block up to the top of the frame. The Redding Ultramag is the same design with a single ram.
Because of the load path the frame has little force applied and has no reason to spring open.
