An acquaintance brought me an Aydt Schuetzen rifle that was not working. I took it apart and discovered the FP had broken sometime in the past and someone had apparently attempted to repair it by welding on a piece of metal then shaping it. A "cob job" deluxe for sure. Also they installed a new hammer spring that is at least twice too strong and quite a bit too long. The spring problem I could deal with but the hammer is way beyond my skill level, mainly because of the heat treatment that would be required after the repair, so I need to find an someone that can rebuild the hammer.
This particular rifle is quite expensive so, within reason, repair costs are of small consequence, assuming they are skillfully done.
Can someone recommend an individual or company that can do this repair?
