I Just got my Marlin 336 XLR, in 35 Remington back from my gunsmith. The barrel was cut back to 21" from the factory 24". It was just too long! The rifle felt so darn awkward to carry! Now it balances much better as well.

I installed a Leupold 1.5-8X36 silver ultra light scope on it yesterday. Benn having fun the last few days shooting cast 195 grain Ranch Dog flat points at 2025 fps. Fun stuff!

Hope you like the pictures!

Nice gun !

Your scope is actually a 2.5-8x not a 1.5-8x .

I had one of these when they first came out , the thing did nicely with the Hornady Leverevolution rubber tipped stuff . Never tried cast in it before I sold it .

Good point sitka! That was a typo on my part!

this little rifle does well on black bears. If I get a chance to hunt next year, I may give it a try

Beautiful rifle. I have always like the .35 Rem round, and I really like the looks of that stainless Marlin!

Oooh, jealous. I too have always liked these and felt the factory barrel was a bit long.
