I dug back and read Junior42's discussion on his plan to use this out of his 7mm TCU.

I found my TCU to be most accurate with a little more than an additional grain of powder.

So I do not remember seeing a post where anyone used this boolit for deer in any cartridge.

Anyone using it in any cartridge?

Velocity?

I have used the soup can for deer in my 7tcu,s and708 with good to excellent results. It is NOT a slug to try shots that need to penetrate end to end! As always accuracy trumps all. I tried it cast of linotype in my 280 for a high speed varmint buster. Results above 2600fps were erratic .

I have great success with it in 7-08 and believe or not in my 7 remmy mag with Trail Boss but alas, no TB anymore! The only reason I have not used it for deer is too many others and not enough time!

Thanx,

7-08 is what I am planning to use to launch it from a long gun, and shots will be taken in close out of the 10" Contender in 7 mm TCU.

I've been having a ball shooting the Lee SoupCan 7 mm, 132 gr. G/C bullet in my two 7 X 57 mm rifles.

During the past few days I've shot some pretty good groups with my stainless Ruger, Mark II, 7 X 57 mm, 20" barrel rifle using this particular bullet.

I decided to take my 6 cav. set of blocks and run about 400 of the bullets this afternoon.

A great shooting 7 mm bullet.

Here is my Ruger , 7 X 57 mm with an older model Leupold, 3 X 9 X 50 mm Vari - X II. Some fine optics ! !

Why do you call them a "soup can"?
Or is it because they are stored in a soup can?

I think it is called a soupcan, because of the design, it looks like the old tin soupcans.
