Our friend SwedeNelson is exploring the possibility of manufacturing IER scope bases for the Puma rifle.
Voicing interest here will help, but the really important discussion is alive and well on NOE's forum.

Why not do it for the more common current production Rossi 92 as opposed to the Chiappa Puma?

I was just over there, and it is for the current production Rossi 92. I'm in.

It has not been available for over a year from what I understand.

What is the difference between the current Rossi and the earlier Puma M92s of 15-20 years ago, jmort?
Are the barrel diameters different, or is there another reason?

For all I know they are exactly the same. I just don't know if the Chiappa has the same screw pattern. They may be clones. Here is how Ranch dog started the thread in the non-Ranch Dog group buy discussion sub-forum at NOE forum

"All of the round barrel Rossi R92s are drilled and tapped for the Rossi scout scope mount. Unfortunately, the Rossi base has been unavailable for at least a year now. I recently sent Al a base so that he could reverse engineer the required barrel contour and taper along with the mount hole alignment. I also suggested that he use picatinny spacing rather than the random Weaver slot spacing so that the base could be used for other sight options.

There is no doubt that NOE can build a better mount than Rossi. There is quite a bit of interest in the NOE mount on my Rossi-Rifleman forum (http://www.rossi-rifleman.com/http://www.rossi-rifleman.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3970) and I will start directing that interest here so that Al can estimate the demand and whether the product is financially feasible or not.

If you are interested in a NOE Rossi 92 Scout Scope Picatinny Rail, please express your interest here!"

I'm curious... The earlier M92 Puma is not drilled and tapped like the current R92. If that's the only difference, I can resolve that.
I don't have a current R92 to compare, so the contour is my main concern.
XS Sights offers ghost ring replacement sets for the older models, but they don't offer their scout rail systems for any Rossi... Not sure why.
