A friend of mine has an 18ga shotgun and was looking for a shotshell from"back in the day". IIRC, a single shell was selling at auction for over a $100.

Yes, they are for collection.
Not totally brass as RMC, single type classic as "UMC Co. No. 18 NITROCLUB", or similar.
