just yesterday I was thinking about the 6x45 in an AR and was searching for info and barrels for a new upper. Are you shooting it in a bolt gun or the AR? I'm courious as to how it performs with jacketed bullets. Sorry I can't help with your question.

Bullseye won't cycle action before pressure catches up to you.

OP,
sounds like ladder test is in order. I'd start around 2.5-3grns. A tad slower powder with better case fill like unique may give you better results. In .223 with 62grn cast 2.5grs 700x run about 1070fps.

What is your intent? Subsonic, suppressor loads or what?

I've used 3-4 grains of BE in manually fed rounds with 75-80 grain bullets, above that slower burners are better.

Thanks for the reply. I have had Lyman molds 245496 and 498 for a long time and just recently started playing with them in a 243. That is what got me to thinking about the 6x45. It seems like the small case capacity of the 6x45 would be easier to develop a good loads over the larger case like the 243 or 6mm.

I think Outpost has suggested a good starting point for bullseye. I shoot a lot of Unique in cast rifle, its makes for pleasant and enjoyable time at the range. I have my grandson hooked on shooting cast and he even says he would like to hunt deer with cast in the 30-06.

Thinking 3gr and 5gr would be max with a 85gr cast bullet?
