Graf's has a special where you get free hazmat if you buy six containers of Nobel Vectan powders. They have one with a burning rate listed as similar to H-110 for $25 and some faster burning ones for less. I'm tempted to buy six different ones.

Anybody use this stuff? Opinions?

I got that email myself and was going to post it up but got sidetracked with other threads and the Charlie Brown Halloween Special last night.

I have used Vectan A0 and GM3 and like it a great deal. If you want to try this powder go for it as it seems to burn very clean for me. I'm going to order 6 containers for myself. There is much information on the web about it and a couple of threads here including one by me

I may be interested in ba6.5 since 2400 seems to be MIA for some time now

Doesn't it just figure that it's the most expensive of their pistol powders?

Seems like how it always works out, for me anyhow. The new Alliant 300MP is in every store locally here, maybe a pound of that to try under pbased cast is in order?

Let us know how that works if you would. I have not run across that many people that have used it and none have used it for cast. One thread I read somewhere said it ran hot like Lil Gun

BTW: The shotgun powders I have tried have all been in handguns and I've been pleased so far. There is a ton of information out there on using them in various pistol calibers.

Powder Valley has BA6.5 for $24

My tests of 300 MP when it first came out showed it to be slower than H110 and slower than I was wanted for 4&6 inch 44 revolvers. I haven't seen 2400 in over 2 1/2 years and just bought AA#9 to get by.

Thanks for posting about Graf's. I've been looking for Clays or Clay Dot since I recently ran out and the LGS have none. I needed it for reloading 12 gauge 7/8 oz and 1 oz loads for sporting clays. One LGS does have Red Dot, but at $31/lb and reloading 12 gauge shells at that price doesn't make much sense. So a bunch of Vectan AS is on the way to me. Thanks!

I believe the Graf's special of no hazmat fee with purchase of 6 1.1 lb bottles or more Vectan powder ends today

I use ba9 and sp2 practical for 9mm and ba10 for .45ACP . Its the best priced powder in europe . I pay 49 € for a kilo . If i were buying vithaviuori N320 i pay 110€for a kilo . Ive loaded over 70k the last 2years with the vectan powders and dont go back to another powder!

I have six bottles of GM3 on order, as well as a jug of AA#9. I was on the fence about spending >$100 on an unknown powder, but the ability to add the #9 on the same hazmat fee was the clencher.

Graf is still doing the 6 x Vectan = free hazmat. Plus you can add other things on the order - primers and other powder. Remember each bottle is 1/2 kilo and not a pound, so you get about 10% more in each bottle. Guys on Shotgunworld are using various Vectan powders to replace Clays and other powders and have links posted to Nobel's shotgun, rifle and pistol data sheets, which aren't hard to find using Google too. Data is all metric and need converting to grains. I can tell you that the Vectan AS powder works great for 12 ga. shotgun reloading. Zero problems with it and I'm no longer searching for overpriced scalper sold Clays or Clay Dot when I can get all the Vectan AS I want at a great price.
