This Remington 541T is what I wish I had.

.

The M-131 looks plenty good nuf", for me...........

When they were 1st introduced, I bought one that had a blond-colored stock, so I kept the blond look and added a rosewood gripcap & an angled rosewood forend tip - the rosewood really made it look impressive.

I've never shot one. I did see one in about 99% sell at an auction a few weeks ago for $325. Seemed like a decent enough gun, but I have enough bolt action .22's that are going hungry now.

Had a 541T since um 91. Picked it up for a small game gun just never had the time to go use it. They are sure are nice but don't hold a candle to a 40x sportster out of the old custom shop. I'll bet I don't have 200 rds through that 541 yet. Now, the DCM 40x tackdriver, thats a different stoy. It'll hold about 1.25 - 1.5" 10 shot group at a hondo with CCI Std Vel and hovers an 1.25 with Wolf ME. Average at 50m is between .28 and .37 with Wolf if not, its me. Also got an Anschutz 22 mag with real low mileage, maybe three boxes?

Nice metal work. I'm sure the stock didn't look that good either. I don't mind the wood finishing, its the stripping, oil stain removal and dent raising that drags out for me. Tuning up the checkering is to bad either unless it is the pho stamped checkering. The diamond like to break off alot on the stamp ones. I just run it with a riffler file. I'd like to actually try cutting true checkering some time. Every time I've gone to order a kit, they are out of stock in the size I want. Nice job.
