I loaded up my first ever batch of 9mm, using some homemade bullets (120g TC from pure WW) homemade lube (wax, vaseline and crayons) and 4.6g of bullseye.

It works like a charm and I was tickled to death to burn through 300? rounds for around $7

The weapon I was using was a closed bolt (semi) uzi and after a 25rd mag dump it looked like I was shooting black powder. It don't really care but I'm curious what might have caused that?

I'm guessing lube.

Lube. I've got some combinations that will do that. Smokiest are the ones I've tumbled in White Lightning Bicycle Chain Lube. Puffs out a cloud like blackpowder, and in my Mosins with fixed bayonet, the bayo gets coated with a soot-like deposit that's white.

combination of both. Bullseye is a little smoky but most of your smoke is lube.

We had a 625-8 and a 25-2 both shooting the same ammo. This was loaded with Tightgroup and LBT Blue lube. Neither gun leaded.

One gun smoked and one did not. One gun was as dirty as anything I ever saw and the other gun looked like it only fired say 6 shots.

So is Tightgroup a clean or dirty powder? Is LBT Blue a good lube or bad?
