Dutch Oven Soda Pop Biscuits
3 cups flour
3/8 cup oil
12 oz (one can) soda pop. (I use cheap lemon-lime: just make sure it is not diet soda!)
3 Tbsp Baking powder
First Preheat a 12" Dutch oven with 20 coals on top and 10 coals on bottom.
Mix flour and baking powder
Add oil and soda pop and mix. You may need to add a tad more flower if it is too sticky.
Spread dough out by hand on a floured board to a 3/4 inch thickness.
Cut biscuits with a sharp edged cup our biscuit cutter (do not twist the cutter while cutting the biscuits)
Arrange in Dutch oven so biscuits are not touching
Cook for 17-20 minutes Your mileage may vary depending on ambient temperature
