Dovetail mounting!?

Having s....ed up when ordering a russian POSP scope I now have a dovetail-version. Fits nicely on my .22 but it was supposed to go with my 6,5Grendel.

Is there such a thing as dovtail bases? Or should I just sell of this one and order a new one?

For scopes there are Sako type, Mauser type and probably others. Rim fire type can be machined into the receiver or screw mounted. Dove tails can drive you silly. I don't know of a "dove tail thesaurus", but there should be one.

Doevtail scope mounting bases to fit my minimark-x-rifle/Remington 799.
Brownells has base stock, migth be the best/easiest solution.

Dont have my caliper around, but a quick testfit shows it fits a standard rimfire dovetail, but seems it also can fit a wider version.

Kalinka optics is willing to take the scope back, have to check up on postage costs but I migth just order one more scope.
