Hello friends,

I saw a Henry's 22LR at my local gun store. I liked it a lot and the price didn't seem unreasonable.

Do any of you guys have one? How do you like it?

Thanks in advance,

Steve in N CA

I bought one for the wife a couple years back and it's ok. Not super accurate but not too bad either. It feeds a variety of ammo without a hitch. Fit and finish is ho hum. I think they are worth about what they cost.

Buddy just picked up one NIB. Fit and finish outstanding. Accuracy not so much. Swapped out rear sight for a skinner big improvement in sight picture. Accuracy still so-so

I've had one for several years. With CMP Aguila standard velocity and Aguila sub-sonic 38gr it goes under 2 MOA for 10 shots at 100 yards(no wind of course). Bulk Federal and Winchester run 3 MOA, CCI Blazer between 3 and 4 inches. Has a good trigger, very pleased with accuracy for such a light rifle. Functions very well. I've got a couple Marlin 39A's and various Mossberg 46, 146 and 44's, shoots as well as they do. Picking the right brand of ammunition is the key to all of them.

I've got a hoo1m which is the .22 wmr and love it. That gun gets a lot of attention at the range from other people. Mines a older one built when the plant was still in Brooklyn. Action is ultra smooth it won't shoot MOA but, will shoot minute of squirrel. Plus Henry is a 100 percent American company. The company slogan is "built in America or not built at all"

I've got an old on that's had hundreds of rounds through it and the black is gone from the receiver (looks better). Very accurate!! if you shoot cheap ammo, you'll get poor accuracy--at least try CCI.

I recently bought one and was able to take it to the range the other day. I was very pleased with it: smooth cycling, accurate, and fun to shoot. The only change I made was to replace the front sight with a fiber optic one (Old eyes). I think it is a very good gun for the money . . .

I have one and my only complaint is that I wish the front sight was narrower because it just seems a bit too wide, but every time I start thinking about narrowing it, I take it to the range to see if it is really worth messing with, and give it a test. I throw out a golf ball and start shooting it and knocking it down range. You know, I haven't missed it a single time yet til it gets out to at least 80 yds, and I just can't get myself to mess with that front sight when it works so much better than I expect when looking at the sight picture. I keep thinking I should pick up a .22 Mag one of these days.

I have the H004 and H004SV. The 04 is the same as the 01 only shiny. I love the Golden Boy, squirrels well not so much. I can pretty much hit anything I point it at. Haven't had a chance to get out with the Silver Boy in 17HMR. It seems to shoot a bit high, or it could be just me not use to the rifle yet. At some point in time I will probably add Skinner sights.

Mine is an old Brooklyn made gun. I don't have a scope on it but it shoots well enough without one for hunting, cycles smoothly and feeds reliably. I drilled through the front plastic sight and inserted a red fibre optic pipe. Works well for me.

I got the H004 Golden Boy some years ago, it's ok?, then I picked up the H001 for the GF so I could get my Winchester 9422 back, I'll take the 9422 or either of my Marlin 39A or 39M any day over the Henry, at least they don't have plastic sights and painted receivers on them.

My Henry is 2 yrs old and it will hit a 3" bull @ 50 yds. pretty regular if I do my thing. It does shoot Winchester 36 gr. Super X @ 1280 fps better than any other brand including CCI. Don't know why but it is predictably better than others.

.

Leverguns, including the Henry, are hunting/plinking, but not target, rifles - with one exception, it's an unreasonable expectation to think one should give target-grade accuracy.

The exception is an older Marlin 39a (1946-1970 DOM), of which I've owned/shot several that would put 5 shots under a dime @ 50yds with iron sights (In 50 years, I've yet to scope a levergun).

I have an older Brooklyn H001L that I have shot a lot over the years and have been very happy with it. I went with the L as I shoot mostly Super Colibri for pest control and its a short little handy thing. It's killed a lot of stuff.

I have a scoped Henry 16" carbine that will stay under an inch all day long at 50 yds with good std vel ammo from CCI or Fiocchi.
