Anybody familiar with the lever in 500S&W? Except for the price I am very tempted but have not talked with anyone who knows anything definitively about it other than gun writers who will say anything to get a test gun

I own a Big Horn Armory model '89 in 500 S&W and I absolutely love it. The straight stock greatly reduces felt recoil and it is incredibly accurate out to 200 yds. with 450 gr. Gas checks. Much more fun than any revolver and much more velocity.

Eddy, how long did it take to get yours? I have one paid for and waiting since 12-14. Coming up on a year now. Guess the anticipation is half the fun. Thanks, Les

Well Les, it took a while. I jumped in early on before they were released because I saw the potential of a lever action 500 S&W for full scale dangerous game hunting as well as black powder duplication loads. I waited 2 1/2 years for serial #4. I hear from the locals here that the wait is now significantly shorter. Let me tell you it's worth the wait. Call and get on their $ss.

Now that I no longer subscribe to the glossy gun mags, except the Rifleman (which was unusually good this month), I stay out of touch with what's new. I therefore googled the gun, and fell in love! With all but the price, at least. Too spendy for me these days, but my mouth's watering anyway. What bonafide "gun nut's" wouldn't be? For any who are not familiar with this gun, as I wasn't, here's a link to their website, and below it a video of the gun being shot. I sure wish some of my more well heeled buddies would get one so I could play with one!

Eddy, I ordered a model 90A in 454 Casull. Have lots of new Brass and will cast for it. Should be a good companion for my Ruger SRH in the same flavor. Got it before the price increase 1-1-15. I think it was around $2800 IIRC. Carbine in matt Stainless with the best Walnut. Ought to be a Whitetail HAMMER!
