Ok this may seem like a dumb question but......

I have been shooting .430 diam boolits out of my Redhawk. I want to start casting for it. I would like to get the Lee tumble lube 90357 mold which is supposed to drop .430 boolits. Now here is the question. I have the Lee tumble lube mold for my .357 which drops the boolits at .358. My Lee lube sizer kit sizes them to .357 and they work fine. What Lee lube sizer kit should I get for the Redhawk? The mold is supposed to drop the boolits at .430. I plan to powder coat them. My .357 mold is .001 oversize so the sizer will size down to .357. If I get the .430 mold, which is the size boolits I am shooting now will the sizer do me any good or should I go with the .429 sizer.
Hope this makes sense.

thanks

Are you planning to size after powder coating or before? You say .430" is working for you now, so That is what I would use.

Thanks, After powder coating. The boolits I am using now are store bought and mic at .430. The mold I am going to get it .430. I am guessing the sizer won't be doing a lot but maybe just that little bit.

The thing was the .357 mold drops .001 @ .358 over size and the sizer takes it down to .357. The .44 setup would drop and size at the same diameter and I was just wondering if that could be a problem or really do any good. I guess it will just round out the bullet and size down the PC. Again won't do much but maybe just enough

thanks

With Lee molds...and sizing dies, you just cross your fingers and hope that the one they send you is actually what it is supposed to be. I havent had many bad ones but have heard of them. With my .429-200 lee mold, I powder coat one coat and load, no sizing. It just works.

I've had good luck with all the Lee stuff I bought. I hope the mold actually drops a bit bigger. I think I can adjust the boolit size using the powder coating. It seems somewhere in the .431-2 range is working best so far.

Yes that is correct, powder coat is great for that. Good luck!
