Looks cold up there in Alaska screwcutter.

I too use the NOE 316299 mould for my Longbranch No 4 Mk I that has a mint, but larger bore than normal.

If you can find one of these old AJ Parker sight addons for your No 4, it's well worth the price for a windage adjustment.

The NOE 316299 is what I use too... sized to 0.315". Works well in my Lee Enfields. Excellent boolit and mould.

My Longbranch shoots that boolit well, but my two groove barrel has to have almost a .318 in cast to shoot well and with very hard lead like Lino.
The bore measures .3155

Scharfschuetze,
That was from last spring, I would like to find one of those AJ sights but I have not had windage issues with anything yet.
atr,
They're some Ram silhouettes there at 200 meters. If you open the pic and hold down the ctrl key you can zoom in/out with the mouse wheel.
The No 4 MKI* is a Savage with a 2 groove barrel in good shape It slugs @.315.

Scharf: Those Parker add on sights are going pretty high on Ebay. I bid on one that was NIB a few months ago. I quit at $175 and it went for over $300US!

I did this instead and it is a no alteration upgrade that is far superior to anything the Brits made. It's a Redfield Olympic on a "redesigned" (IE: I made it myself) Redfield mount.

It works so well it's criminal., and my best score at Short Range Sil is 31/40. Using 314299 and 16 gr of 2400. My barrel is .303/.313

Wow! That's a great idea to use one of the best aperture sights ever made in the USA.

Does the base screw into the ejector hole?

I had no idea those AJ Parkers had become so valuable. I bought mine back in the early 80s directly from AJ Parker. I think the shipping across the Atlantic was more than the sight cost at the time. My memory isn't too clear on what I paid, but I don't think that it was more than $30. Of course $30 back then would probably be $120 or so now.

I have the same sight and had Randy make me a mount to suit, what I ended up with is IMHO the BEST rear sight set-up ever put on an Enfield,Randy does excellent work. Pat

Scharf: the mount attaches to a longer ejector screw and a 6-32 screw thru the left rear sight pivot.

In this case it is longer as I needed the length for the Redfield International sight's base.

This was simply an adaptation of the base that Redfield offered with it's Series 70 and 80 sights for mounting on the #4 Mk1. They also used it for Lyman 66 Series sights as shown below. I will probably use one of these on my #4 Mk1 Long Branch .35-303.

And Pat,,, Thanks for the nod, I'm assuming you're still quite "Chuffed" with that set up.
