Hi guys, just a quick question can you ream a chamber with just a finishing reamer or is a roughing reamer absolutely necessary?

The roughing reamer is to save wear on the finish reamer. Some use drills, some step bore and some just use the finish reamer.

It depends on how much material you need to remove. Save your finish reamer till the end of the job.

If only a few chambers, a finish reamer is fine

Depending on the chamber, I sometimes use a drill bit to take out most of the metal.
