Finally got my Cadet shooting smokless powder. I was lucky enough to be sent some proper .310 brass (AU Super brand) that are sufficiently thick in the wall that they require no sizing to hold a heel bullet snuggly. Shot this little guy this evening with a HPed CBE 325-125 over 5gr of Unique.

Jeff, nice job. I like the ammo holder it complements the rifle.

Nope. Proper .310 barrel. The woodwork is my recreation however.

Great looking rifle and nice to see one firing an original cartridge. The cartridge holder is on the wrong side of the stock though! Must be something to do with being "down under" LOL. Glad you had a good day.

That stock has some nice subtle grain in it and has come up looking good Jeff. Should be able to eat up to the hole with the 310.

That's high praise from you Mr Gruff. Thank you.

I did HP the bullets as I have had mixed results with similar weight bullets of the same profile (RN) in the .32-20 where they are not convincing stoppers. For rabbits a small FN would suffice but for hares and wallabies I will HP. The load produces 1360fps for the 320-120 bullet and 1315fps with the slightly heavier 325-125.

Maybe it is just the picture but that looks like a huge rabbit to me. On the order of a feral Flemish giant. Do you have a guess what it weighs?

About a 7/8 grown doe. You should see are hates.

BSA replacement barrel at original length. The front site I replaced with the Lee Enfield blade in order to get the rifle to regulate to the loads I am using. I used to shoot way high.

The "hates"?? I think you mean "hares" don't you? LOL!

Never understood the difference except that hares are bigger than rabbits. Is there any other differences?

That thing is bigger than our coyotes!

Hares are red meat while rabbits are white meat for a start.

Here you go. Same rifle but prior to rewooding with the hare I dropped at an honest 100 yards. Took three attempts but I got him.

Very nice. Martinis are indeed intriguing rifles. New wood looks right at home on that rifle. Always amazed at the size of your rabbits and hares.

Very nice looking wood on your cadet. Lol i would think about 3 of those hares would be about all the weight a person would care to carry at a time!

I bet even 4 that were gutted would be quite a load coming out of a thicket?

Now that's a thumper. Ha. I would not want to carry one out of a very big thicket. Lol. Thanks Jeff.
