I bought a .310 cadet that has been rechambered. The dealer thought it was .310 Cadet and sold it to me as such. I know I need to do a chamber casting, but while I await the cerrosafe, can anyone tell me the most common rechamberings for this gun. I bought it as a .310, but when I put a Cadet case in, it slid about an inch up into the chamber. So the chamber is larger than it should be. I did slug the barrel. Measurement at the lands is .311. Measurement at the grooves is .316. I was experimenting, and found that .357 mag. chambers perfectly, but the bullet would be too big. Any ideas are appreciated.

Some .310 Cadet rifles were chambered for .32 Winchester Special. If it has the original barrel, I'd bet that was done to yours based on your findings. The little Cadet is known to have SIGNIFICANT recoil shooting the .32 WS unless loaded way down.

Welcome to the forum ! !

The usual suspects, for Cadets that have been only re-chambered and not rebored/rebarreled, are the .32-20 & the .32 Special.

Was it chambered for 30X38 SPL, 30X357, 30X357 Rock, 30X357 Max?
30 Badger???

Thank goodnes I got a couple of cases with mine . . .

It is essentially 30X357 Max short, Long neck.

357 Max brass,
30X221 dies,
left a bit longer than 30X221 to Shoulder,
Long neck,

Trimmed to some length I have long sense forgotten.
All on a Francotte action.

Built in the "Old Days" by a Crusty O.F. Gunsmith/Competitor using the rest of his shot out heavy 308 competition barrel.

Traded to me for 75 bucks and some Martini Cadet parts after he died.

Weren't they all Crusty O.Fs. back then?
