What size is the roll pin that holds the extractor in? I am in need of one. I have a 256 win mag barrel that I've been using .223 cases in. I recently came into possession of several hundred 256win mag cases and want to use them because of the rim. The reforming of 223 brass is complicated but the results are accurate enough. I'm just reverting to my lazy old self.
thanks!

Am I reading this right, you are making 256 win mags from 223 cases. The 256 is based on the 357 mag case. How do you get cases out of the chamber? You must be using a small screw driver or a knife.

It finally came to me, you replaced the extractor with a 223 extractor and when changing it back over to the original extractor you either lost the roll pin or messed it up.

Correct but I lent the barrel to a friend who had some 256ammo from his dad. He will replace my pin AND give me those empties. His targets showed he. Had an accurate load. The bullets were from a custom maker that closed shop years ago. The powder charge was in one of my manuals.
