Got out to the range this weekend and shot the paper patched loads I made up over my spring break. Heavy lube on the base with a card wad under it thinking it would squish it out of the sides and keep fouling soft. At 100 yards I had about a 5" group after I got home and cleaned the gun I discovered the gun has a good sized nick on the crown...nor sure how the hell it got there but now I gotta move stuff to turn it in the lathe.

Results are promising, I'm going to try not sizing my brass now. Also going to try and get a cutter to make better wads for and use more of a lube cookie. Need to secure more paper but I'm pleased with what I've done so far. No leading and easy clean up. If I get things worked out I'll load up all the brass I have (45-70) and make a day of it next time. Loads were going just under 1300fps with a 501gr bullet
