Our 2 day, buck only ML season opened today here in KY. This morning while getting ready to head in for lunch, bored, I shot two squirrels for the pot with my Ruger Old Army that I carry along when ML hunting, have taken 2 deer with it and 210 gr slugs. This evening I Hunted a blind in the woods between 5-7, came out last few minutes of daylight and bumped a buck at about 100yds, he took off across the field, I doe bleated with own voice, he stopped and whirled around at 140yds, I had gotten a rest and thumbed back the hammer on my TC Omega, let her loose and lost him in the BP smoke! I could find no blood, sign of a hit, but felt confident, so I went and got the wife, couple of head lights and we started circling, she found him, only blood was a few feet from where he had piled up. He had run about 60 yds, was so fat he did not bleed out! He was about #200, big bodied, #170 or so gutted, he boned out over #100 of meat, filled up a 70 quart cooler to the lid, had to put the meat into 2 coolers then ice down, grind him up tomorrow after church!! I will try to get a buddy to post pics tomorrow. I was shooting 95grs of 2FFg , Harvester black crush rib sabots, 260 gr ballistic tip boat tail copper plated slug. Recovered the slug, first one of these I have found, mushroomed perfectly and did a great job. Though I love traditional ML rifles the most, this TC Omega I have is deadly, one of my favorite hunting rifles, period!

Today, my dog cost me a chance at a big buck ive been watching for awhile. I was in the back field when the buck stepped out on to the neighbor's place. He starts strolling towards me tail down, totally unconcerned. I hear a rustle behind me and I know exactly who it is, my dumb dog. I wave him away with my hand which usually works but instead he starts sniffing around. The buck gets 20 yards from my property line and is then spooked by the noise my dog was making. The dog then sees him and runs at him barking. You could have heard me cussing two counties over. From now on he is getting chained up firmly when I go hunting.
